- If your property is in Austin, in most cases as soon as tenants turn on utilities in their name, your accounts will automatically be closed down. However, you may wish to contact your utility providers to be on the safe side. If you do call to close your accounts, please make the effective date 2 days after the tenant’s move-in date, as occasionally tenants are unable to get utilities on in time for their move-in. In this scenario, please notify us and send us your final bill so we can charge any overlap back to the tenants.
- If your property is outside Austin and you have choices for providers, we do recommend you close out your accounts and, again, make sure the effective date is 2 days after the tenants move-in date.
