# Reset A Tripped Circuit Breaker

Resetting a circuit breaker is a straightforward process. Here are the steps:

1. **Locate the Circuit Breaker Panel**: Find the main electrical panel in your home. It's often in basements, garages, or utility rooms.
2. **Identify the Tripped Breaker**: Look for a breaker that is in the "off" position or is in a middle position between "on" and "off." It may also be slightly out of line with the others.
3. **Turn Off Devices**: Before resetting, turn off any devices connected to the tripped circuit to prevent overloading.
4. **Reset the Breaker**:
   - Firmly push the tripped breaker all the way to the "off" position.
   - Then, push it back to the "on" position.
5. **Check for Recurrence**: After resetting, monitor the circuit to ensure it doesn't trip again. If it does, there may be a larger issue, and you should consider contacting an electrician.
6. **Restore Power to Devices**: Once the breaker is back on and stable, you can turn your devices back on one at a time.
